What if I break or damage something?

We understand that accidents occasionally happen, and minor breakages and reasonable wear-and-tear will not be charged for. However, it is your responsibility to take care of the cottage in such a way as to minimise unnecessary damage to the building or contents.
For example, we ask that you ensure adequate ventilation whilst cooking or showering, and avoid hanging wet/damp towels or clothes on furniture. We also ask that you use mats, trays, and chopping boards to protect furniture/surfaces, and avoid using knives or sharp items on non-stick pans.
Please report to us any breakages, break-downs or
damages as soon as they happen, so we can promptly take action to put
them right. We will only deduct the cost of any non-wear-and-tear losses, damages or breakages from your damages deposit, after talking to you about the costs involved.
There are more details about this in our Booking Terms and Conditions under the sections "Damages Deposit" "The Property"
